The new 2013 Ram® 2500 and 3500 Mega Cab models offer best-in-class interior room in the segment, including the largest, longest cab (143.2 cubic feet 111.1 inches long); largest interior cargo volume (72.2 cubic feet); largest cargo volume behind rear seat (7.7 cubic feet); largest flat-floor load area (16.8 square feet); largest second-row leg room (44.2 inches); largest rear-door opening (34.5 inches wide, 35.5 inches high); largest rear-door open angle 85 degrees); and first-ever reclining rear seats (22- to 37-degree seat-back angle).

 

The interior boasts precision craftsmanship in features like the Soft-Touch instrument panel and door trim, standard two-tone upholstery plus detailed stitching on the seats and throughout. Suspension

 

Ram® is built to be durable from the ground up. Two-wheel drive models feature a short and long arm independent front suspension system with large stabilizer bars, plus steering arms positioned to minimize bump steer. Four-wheel drive models feature a five-link, coil-spring front suspension with a link-type sway bar and a beam axle for an outstanding combination of ride, handling and off-road operating characteristics.

 

Both two- and four-wheel drive rear suspension systems use high-strength longitudinal leaf springs and a solid rear axle. All 3500 models include separate auxiliary spring leaves to support the full-rated load and contribute to Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR).

 

Braking Power

 

A truck as big and powerful as Ram® Heavy Duty needs large brakes. That's why we go big on our brake pistons and calipers, and why our brake pads cover a wide surface area. This allows you to stop with confidence and ensures longer intervals between brake jobs.

 

Integrated Trailer Brake Controller

 

The available integrated trailer brake controller allows you to automatically or manually activate the electronic brakes on properly equipped trailers for greater stopping power on downhill grades. The controller and status display are mounted in the dashboard to the left of the steering wheel, and the included control lever can activate the trailer brakes independent of the truck's brakes.

 

Stopping power is upped further by a wide brake pad surface area, and large brake pistons and calipers. Bigger brakes also mean longer intervals between brake jobs and less time and money spent in the shop. Additionally, a standard integrated diesel exhaust brake reduces brake fade and prolongs brake life.

 

Rear Backup Camera

 

The available ParkView® rear backup camera shows you what's behind your truck on the available the full-color multimedia touch screen when you're in reverse. It eases parking and takes the guesswork out of backing up to a trailer.

 

Trailer Tow Mirrors

 

The available large 7x11-inch folding trailer tow mirrors with available integrated turn signals and puddle lamps provide a commanding view of the road on both sides of your truck.

 

Trailer Harness Connector

 

A combination four-pin / seven-pin trailer harness connector, standard on all Heavy Duty Rams, eliminates dangling wires and makes it easier to connect your trailer.

 

Fifth Wheel Hitch

 

Count on impressive 16,000-lb towing capacity. This premium hitch, available from Mopar®, mounts directly to the frame's cross-member. It provides extra clearance to extend the turning radius and prevent damage to the rear window - previously 45 degrees, it's now expanded to 80 degrees.

 

Gooseneck Trailer Hitch

 

The available Mopar® gooseneck trailer hitch mounts securely in the cargo box using an installation kit that attaches directly to the frame rails under the box. A quick-release handle means it's easily removed.

 

Heavy-Duty Tow Hooks

 

Pull just about anything out of anywhere with these black, forged-steel hooks that mount to your Ram 2500 truck frame. Available from Mopar®.
