Thomson Chrysler Dodge Jeep Offers Free Tickets to the Augusta Futurity
Thomson, GA (January 25, 2009)—The largest cutting horse event east of the Mississippi River kicked off Friday, January 22, and runs through Saturday, January 30, at the James Brown Arena in Augusta, Georgia. For a short time, Thomson Chrysler Dodge Jeep is giving away free general admission tickets good for most of the Augusta Futurity events.
From the Augusta Futurity website, a summary of the main offerings are listed below.
AUGUSTA FUTURITY MAIN COMPETITION: Friday, January 22, through Saturday, January 30, cutting horse competition, James Brown Arena, daytime events begin at 9 a.m. Friday, January 22, through Friday, January 29th.
CHAMPIONSHIP BULL RIDING: Saturday, January 23. Begins 8 p.m., James Brown Arena. Separate ticket required available at the arena box office. Proceeds benefit University of South Carolina-Aiken baseball scholarships.
WRANGLER FAMILY FUN FEST: Saturday, January 23, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Fun for kids of all ages on Arena Plaza on 7th Street. Pony rides, clogging, Western town and performance by a country band. Take your kid's photo on Maverick, the Texas Longhorn for a donation.
VENDORS: Civic Center Lobby and downstairs, January 22-30; Bell Auditorium Western Expo begins Wednesday, January 27, goes through Saturday, January 30, with western wear and many one-of-a-kind, handcrafted items.
FUTURITY COUNTRY DANCE: Wednesday, January 27, beginning 8 p.m., Country Club nightclub, 2834 Washington Road; doors open at 7 p.m.
AUGUSTA STALLION STAKES BREEDING AUCTION: Friday, January 29, approximately 2 to 6 p.m. (after second go 4-year-old Futurity Non-Pro), Ramada Plaza Hotel, 640 Broad St., not a sale of stallions but of donated breedings.
THE CHAMPIONS CHALLENGE: Thursday, January 28, 7 p.m., James Brown Arena,
AUGUSTA FUTURITY HORSE SALE: Saturday, January 30, Begins 9 a.m., James Brown Arena. Viewing free. Cash and checks accepted.
FUTURITY FINALS: Saturday, January 30, James Brown Arena. Opening ceremony, 6:30 p.m. Separate ticket required available at the arena box office.
