2017 Dodge Charger at Thomson Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram

If you are looking for a powerful vehicle that rides like a sports car but functions like a traditional sedan, then you should consider the 2017 Dodge Charger. The 2017 Charger definitely stands out from others in its class due to its available 6.4-liter V8 engine, heritage styling, and menacing stance on the road. The Dodge Charger is a beauty on the outside but it also manages to be extremely comfortable and technologically advanced on the inside. The newest Uconnect infotainment system is installed in all trim levels, which is extremely user-friendly and offers pinch and swipe capability on the available 8.4-inch touchscreen. The system is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which allows you to access all your favorite apps, music and messaging on your phone with the command of your voice. All five of your passengers can fit comfortably in the 2017 Charger, and if you add the Beats Audio Package, the additional speakers and added subwoofer will surely turn your excursion into a party!

Under the Charger’s Hood

Dodge does not disappoint with their array of available engines. There are eight trims in the lineup for the 2017 Charger. The two lower level trims, the SE and SXT, are built with a 3.6-liter V6 engine, which generates 292 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The next two trim levels are the R/T and Daytona. These two trims are built with a 5.7-liter V8 engine, which generates 370 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque. Moving up to the R/T Scat Pack, SRT 392, and Daytona 392, you will get a 6.4-liter V8 engine, which can generate 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque. Lastly, the most powerful trim, the SRT Hellcat, has a monstrous 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8 engine. Each model comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive, but the SE and SXT do have an all-wheel drive alternative. Some distinct features are found in the different trim levels. For example, the SRT has various drive modes that allow you to customize your driving experience. You can modulate the transmission shift speeds, horsepower, paddle shifters, steering, suspension and traction. The R/T and Daytona trims add an electronically controlled active exhaust system that gives off a more pronounced rumble from the exhaust pipes.

Design of Dodge Charger

Looking at the overall exterior of the 2017 Charger, one cannot help but notice that the body resembles the Chargers of the 1960’s and 1970’s. This, of course, is a good thing, since so many muscle-car lovers appreciate that era. The Charger’s design keeps some of its heritage but adds modern touches like an aerodynamic smoothed nose and racetrack lighting on the rear. The SE trim is stocked with numerous standard features. Some of these include: 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone manual climate control, a 60/40-split folding backseat, keyless entry and ignition, a leather-wrapped tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, a six-way power-adjustable driver seat, a 5-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, and a six-speaker sound system. The SXT model increases the wheel size to 18 inches and offers some additional comfort features like dual-zone automatic climate control, an eight-way power-adjustable driver seat, upgraded cloth upholstery, an upgraded six-speaker sound system, and more. If you add the available Popular Equipment Group, you can have remote ignition, satellite radio, and rear parking sensors. Or, add the Sunroof Group and you can sport a sunroof and a rear spoiler. The R/T trim adds more performance features since it has a larger engine. A performance suspension, upgraded brakes and 20-inch wheels complete this sporty model. Moving up the trim levels adds more specialized performance features, more driver assist features, and unique exterior styling.
