Let me introduce you to the redesigned 2017 Jeep Compass. A brand-new model, the Jeep Compass is sure to delight the off-road enthusiast with its firm chassis, controlled suspension, powertrain choices, and signature Jeep styling. The ride is smooth in the Compass, and the daily commute is enjoyable with its 4th generation Uconnect infotainment system. The new Trailhawk trim offers more advanced off-road capabilities with its all-wheel drive, manual transmission, raised suspension and specialized underbody protection. If this peaks your curiosity, continue reading below to learn more about the new 2017 Jeep Compass!

Under the Compass’s Hood

The redesigned 2017 Compass offers four trim levels: Sport, Latitude, Limited and Trailhawk. Each Compass comes with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 180 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. Additionally, the same engine is available with electronic stop-start to help with fuel efficiency. Three transmissions are available: the nine-speed automatic available for the 4-wheel drive models, the six-speed automatic for the two-wheel drive models, and the six-speed manual transmission for both the two-wheel and four-wheel drive models. The Trailhawk is the Compass’ beefy off-road model and it comes equipped with AWD and the nine-speed automatic transmission. It has a raised suspension and its own Selec-Terrain system for tackling steep, rocky surfaces.

Design of Jeep Compass

The Sport trim is one of the more reasonably priced crossover SUVs on the market. It includes 16-inch wheels, cloth seats, the Uconnect system with a 5-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity, a six-speaker sound system, and more. It also has the most drivetrain options out of all the models. The Latitude model adds larger wheels, vinyl seating, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and added option packages. Some of the packages available are a towing package, a safety package, and the Cold Weather Package. The Limited trim has four-wheel drive and is the most luxurious. It has larger 18-inch wheels, an 8.5-inch touchscreen compatible with the Uconnect system, a larger driver information display, heated front seats, leather interior and more. Finally, there is the brawny Trailhawk trim. It has unique underbody protection to shield important components from damage, a specialized front fascia and suspension to help tackle uneven terrain, stylish red tow hooks, a two-tone black roof, the bigger 8.5-inch touchscreen, and more. From the interior, the 2017 Compass is impressively roomy. There is ample room for rear passengers, and with the rear seats folded own, there is approximately 60 cubic feet of cargo space. To maximize the driver’s outdoor experience, the higher-level trims also offer an available dual-pane sunroof. As for technology, the 2017 Compass is equipped with the 4th generation Uconnect system, which is advanced and user-friendly. The system offers smartphone interfacing with pinch and swipe capability.
