2017 Jeep Wrangler at Thomson Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram

You want a car with spirit, power, and the ability to get you wherever you need to go, right? Well, the 2017 Jeep Wrangler can provide you with that and more. Equipped with a mighty V6 engine, the Wrangler is full of as much power as some muscle cars. The Wrangler is also prepared to climb rocks, mountains, and more, so it can really take you anywhere. If you want every ride to feel like an adventure, the 2017 Jeep Wrangler can do that for you. New for this year are optional LED headlights and fog lamps and a Cold Weather Group with comfort features for your chilly expeditions.

Under the Wrangler’s Hood

The 2017 Jeep Wrangler is made to get you where you need to go and to do it effortlessly. Under the hood is a 3.6-liter V6 engine good for 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Standard on all models is four-wheel drive with high- and low-range gearing and a six-speed manual transmission with hill start assist. Optional is a five-speed automatic transmission with hill start assist and hill descent control. While the vague steering can take some time to adjust to on regular pavement, the forgiving controls are ideal for all your off-road adventures. Additionally, the SUV is capable of towing 2,000 pounds.

Design of Jeep Wrangler

Charming and classic as ever, the 2017 Jeep Wrangler still prefers its optimal functionality over its appearance. The 2017 Jeep Wrangler was practically built for customization, with ample choices in factory and aftermarket parts. There are three core trim levels: Sport, Sahara, and Rubicon; each is two door and has a four-passenger capacity. Some of the features that the new Wrangler has that are well-loved are a vinyl convertible roof, or an optional hardtop with removable panels, and removable doors- who wants to be in a Wrangler without the wind in their hair? The Sport trim is equipped with 16-inch steel wheels, tires that are ready for on- and off-road, skid plates, a spare tire, tow hooks, a fold-down windshield, foglights, cloth upholstery, and an eight-speaker sound system. For a more comfortable ride, the Sahara switches to 18-inch alloy wheels, modernizes the technology with the Power Convenience Group, and adds LED headlights and foglights, hood insulation for a more quiet ride, air-conditioning, satellite radio, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. For those who really want a vehicle ready for the wild, the Rubicon reverts back to the Sport equipment and throws in 17-inch alloy wheels, shorter 4.10 axle gearing, specialty tires, a heavy-duty front axle, electronic front and rear locking differentials, a disconnecting front sway bar, an upgraded transfer case, rock rails, hood insulation, a luxury leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, air-conditioning, and a nine-speaker Alpine sound system. In the back, you get 12.8 cubic feet of cargo room, or 55.8 cubic feet when you flip the rear seating down.

What is the new Cold Weather Group?

The brand-new Cold Weather Group consists of all-weather slush mats, new winter-ready tires, an engine-block heater, the Power Convenience Group, remote start, and heated seats.

Safety in a 2017 Jeep Wrangler comes from the standard front airbags, antilock brakes, and traction and stability control. In all trims but the Sport, you can also opt for front side airbags. Despite such minimal equipment, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety rated the two-door Wrangler with a score of Good in the moderate-overlap front-impact test.
