|
For the rear-wheel-drive SXT and GT versions, the standard engine is a 3.6-liter V6 that makes 305 horsepower and 268 lb-ft worth of torque. All-wheel-drive is available on both trims. If you move up to the R/T trim, you will get the first in a long line of Hemi V8s, and this one is a 375-horsepower 5.7-liter with a 6-speed manual transmission. The R/T Scat Pack gives you a 6.4-liter V8 with 485 horsepower while providing you a choice of a manual or 8-speed automatic transmission. The all-powerful SRT Hellcat gives you the raw power of a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 with 717 horsepower and is only outdone by the SRT Hellcat Redeye which provides you with an incredible 797 horsepower. All of the V8 powered engines have an 8-speed automatic transmission as the standard, but can be had with a 6-speed manual transmission if you prefer. |
2019 Ford Mustang Power & HandlingThe 2019 Ford Mustang comes with a choice of three different engines. The base engine is a 4-cylinder, while the other two are V8’s. All Mustangs come with rear-wheel drive only as well as a standard 6-speed manual transmission. The horsepower for the Mustang is undoubtedly impressive, but the fuel economy leaves something to be desired as it only has a fuel capacity of 15.5 gallons which means your muscle car will spend a lot of time at the gas station. |
2019 Dodge Challenger Features & DesignThe 2019 Dodge Charger comes in seven different trim levels each proving you with an impressive array of options. First up is the base-level SXT which provides you with such as dual-zone automatic climate control and keyless ignition and entry. While also providing you with tech features such as a 7-inch touchscreen that comes with Apple CarPlay and Android auto. Moving up a level to the GT gives you upgraded brakes, rear parking sensors, and remote ignition. The next two levels are R/T’s and provide you with premium features such as a limited-slip differential and active sport exhaust for the R/T and a heated steering wheel, configurable driving modes, and unique styling elements for the R/T 392. But the cream of the crop are the two Hellcat versions of the Challenger which gives you features such as six-piston Brembo brakes, dual-snorkel hood, and quad exhaust tips and interior ambient lighting. |
2019 Ford Mustang Features & DesignFive trim levels are available for the 2019 Ford Mustang which also provides you with some impressive options. Like the 2019 Dodge Challenger keyless ignition and an auto-dimming rearview mirror are available at the base-level trim, and higher trim levels offer some remarkable features such as power-adjustable front seats and a nine-speaker audio system. The problem here is there isn’t a lot of choice from trim level to trim level, and technological features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not features until higher trim levels, as opposed to the Challenger where they are standard even at the base-level. |
ConclusionsThe battle between these two legendary muscle cars came down to the features, and in the end, we are going to give the victory to the 2019 Dodge Challenger. The Challenger gives you more options and thus more bang for your dollar. We are also impressed with the five engine options, and for raw power, few can beat the SRT Hellcat Redeye.
