Continue reading down below to find out more information about these trucks, and find out who we’re crowning as the winner.

2019 Ram 1500 Power & Handling

Ram pulls out all the stops for 2019. The 1500 comes with two impressive engines. The first is a 3.6-liter V6, which will get you around 269 pound-feet of torque and 305 horsepower. Paired with this engine is an eTorque mild-hybrid system which uses a 48-volt battery pack. This system improves the fuel economy. The other engine is a 5.7-liter V8, which can pump out 410 lb-ft of torque and around 395 horsepower. Both of these engines get an eight-speed automatic transmission, which shifts smoothly and without any catching. You’ll also be able to choose between 2-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive, depending on your preference and your needs.

2019 Ford F-150 Power & Handling

Ford overcompensates in the power department by offering a choice of six engines. The base engine, a 3.3-liter V6, can produce just 290 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque. While these numbers might sound okay, the base engine for the Ram 1500 blows this engine out of the water. The other engines include a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6, a 2.7-liter twin-turbocharged V6, a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6, a 5.0-liter V8, and a similar 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 which pumps out additional horsepower. Throughout these engines you can pick between 2WD and 4WD, depending on your needs.

2019 Ram 1500 Features & Design

Ram continues to outpace the Ford F-150, especially with the seven available trim levels that you can find with the Ram 1500. Some of the standard features, found with Tradesman, include automatic headlights, air conditioning, a six-speaker audio system, a 5-inch touchscreen display, vinyl flooring and upholstery, cruise control, heated side mirrors, a rearview camera, Bluetooth, a Class III hitch receiver, a Uconnect infotainment system, dual USB inputs, and rear-seat USB charge ports. Next up is Big Horn, which adds LED taillights and headlights, an 8.4-inch touchscreen, cloth upholstery, tinted windows, and a 60/40-split folding rear bench seat. Longhorn is a higher trim, which comes with upgraded leather upholstery, a spray-in bedliner, a navigation system, power tailgate release, ventilated and heated reclining rear seats, chrome side steps, and automatic high beams.

2019 Ford F-150 Features & Design

When it comes to trim levels, Ford falls flat. The F-150 is only available in six main trims. The base trim XL comes with a 4.2-inch central display screen, vinyl flooring, automatic high beams, automatic braking, a 4-speaker radio, a driver information display, air conditioning, pre-wired trailer connections, and a rearview camera. Another trim, Lariat, includes driver-seat memory settings, 18-inch wheels, ventilated front seats, keyless entry and ignition, leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, and ambient lighting. A higher trim that is off-road focused is Raptor. You’ll find a modified long-travel suspension, upgraded off-road tires, Fox shocks, 17-inch wheels, skid plates, flared fenders, and special interior trim with cloth and leather upholstery.
