How Capable is the 2022 Jeep Compass?
The Jeep Compass features five trim levels in its 2022 lineup, and all five are powered by the same potent powertrain. Under the hood of the Compass, you’ll find a 2.4-liter Tigershark 4-cylinder engine, which delivers 177 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque. The Latitude LUX, Trailhawk, and Limited trims all come with standard 4-wheel drive, which mates with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The Sport and Latitude come standard with rear-wheel drive and a 6-speed automatic transmission, but 4-wheel drive is still available on all models. Those upper three trim levels also come with the Selec-Terrain Traction Management system with multiple different drive modes that you can select depending on your driving conditions. For off-roading, the Trailhawk brings you all the features you need, including underbody skid plates, and a unique 4X4 system with a 20:1 crawl ratio. The Trailhawk also has red-painted front tow hooks, and a bold black-and-red hood decal that reduces the glare on the windshield. Other off-road features include a 1-inch factory lift, a 30-degree approach angle, and a hill-descent control system. Hill-descent control helps you maneuver steep inclines by automatically applying the brakes when needed.
What are the Compass’s New Design Features for 2022?
As we mentioned above, the Jeep Compass features a total redesign for this model year, which includes a variety of updates for the whole lineup. The Compass has a revised front and rear fascia design with sleek character lines, and slim LED headlights up front. There’s also an understated take on the seven-slot grille design, with chrome grille rings for the upper trim levels. Available features include LED fog lights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a remote vehicle start system. Inside, the Compass offers features like a heated steering wheel wrapped in a soft faux-leather material, as well as heated leather-trimmed seats. The Latitude LUX trim is all-new for 2022, and includes features like LED overhead lighting, and an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. Moving up to the Limited trim, you’ll find the sleekest version of the Compass out of the entire lineup, with features like a Gloss Black roof, a 18-inch diamond-cut aluminum wheels, and a windshield wiper de-icer. The Limited also has an exclusive interior colorway, which features elegant Burnished Copper accent stitching alongside Slate Grey leather upholstery.
Tech Features of the 2022 Jeep Compass
Another crucial part of the Jeep Compass’s 2022 redesign is its new suite of tech features, starting with the Uconnect 5 infotainment system. This system features a standard 8.4-inch touchscreen, or a 10.1-inch screen on upper trim levels. It also comes standard with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot to keep everyone on board connected throughout their journey. On upper trim levels, the Compass also comes with a digital cluster gauge, which measures either 7 or 10.25 inches.
