Six Advanced Engine Options for the Wrangler
Power is the name of the game with the Jeep Wrangler. It always has been and always will be! The standard engine is a 3.6-liter V6 that pumps out 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. This engine pairs with either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission. After this, you have a few options, with the first being a 2.0-liter four-cylinder which delivers 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque that pairs exclusively with the eight-speed automatic transmission. The other option is a diesel-powered 3.0-liter V6 with 260 horsepower and an unstoppable 442 lb-ft of torque. This engine is available on all four-door versions of the Wrangler. Do you want the off-road capable Rubicon? That’s great! It comes standard with a pavement-scorching 6.4-liter V8 that produces 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. The last engine is for the Jeep Wrangler 4xe, and it uses the turbocharged four-cylinder and adds a battery pack and two electric motors to produce 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. No one is short on power with the Jeep Wrangler!
Features standard for the Wrangler
The Jeep Wrangler is filled with luxury, tech, and, of course, off-road features! Things start off well with the base Sport trim, which has foglights, tow hooks, skid plates, 17-inch steel wheels, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Sport S adds more luxury items such as alloy wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and air conditioning. Next is the Sahara trim, which not only comes with four doors, but also mixes in a body-colored grille and fender flairs, 18-inch wheels, full-time four-wheel-drive, remote keyless entry, automatic climate control, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen with integrated navigation, and an upgraded driver information display. Are you an extreme off-roader? Then you owe it to yourself to check out the Rubicon trim as it has 17-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, heavy-duty front and rear axles, locking front and rear differentials, and rock rails. Or you can choose the Rubicon 392, which has high-performance electronic brakes, a 2-inch suspension lift, and Fox shock absorbers.
What does the Wrangler have in terms of safety?
Not only is the 2023 Wrangler very powerful and well-equipped, but it’s also one of the safest vehicles on the road and off of it. You get a standard Blind Spot Monitoring system with Rear Cross-Path Detection, which will monitor the areas around and behind the Wrangler so you can make safe lane changes and see the vehicles coming up behind you. You also get an Adaptive Cruise Control system which will allow drivers to maintain a pre-set distance between the Wrangler and the vehicles behind it. Then there is the Forward Collision Mitigation system which will warn you of an impending forward collision and will even apply the brakes if you do not do so.
